Internship Weekly Conference Reflection and Discussion
Week 1 - May 24, 2010 - 6 pm - This week I was able to learn about the reflections and our graduation requirements. The conference was informative and a lot easier to participate in than before. Other conferences have been quite confusing with so many people talking. This one was calm and orderly. I enjoyed it and the information I recieved from it. I was able to get a lot of reflecting done for the embedded course assignments so I had no questions about this particular part. I'm overwhelmed and I have tried to do a lot before the course even started.
Week 2 - June 2, 2010 - 6 pm - I was not able to attend the weekly conference because we had Kindergarten graduation at our school that night. I wish I could still get the point though. Apparently I need all the points I can get. :( I am extremely overwhelmed now and not enjoying this experience. I hope to get clarification this week so I can get on the right track and perform to what I know I am capable of.
Week 3 - June 8, 2010 - 6 pm - This week's conference was a great deal more informative than any of the conferences before and was not frustrating. I think this might be because students in my class are becomming more savy about their use of the web conference program. It becomes frustrating when students turn their speakers on or play with options the entire time. This time was different. Of course we had our technical issues but not the entire time. We were focused and got to the point of the meeting. I was able to get my questions about course reflections and APA style answered and I feel a great deal better about it. Dr. A also shared a Microsoft program with us that guides us to use APA style within our word document. I am very excited to use this program. I will definitely use it tonight as I reflect about my internship hours.
Week 4 - June 16, 2010 - 6 pm - This week's conference really relieved me more than anything. The question was raised about if we would receive input about our Comprehensive Final Examination before learning that we would not graduate. Dr. A reassured us that we would definitely receive input and would be kept well informed. This was the best news of the entire conference. I also learned that I will definitely need to buy an APA manual. I have been using the Purdue OWL website and it has so far not helped me. I am continually not getting the formatting right.
Week 5 - June 22, 2010 - 6 pm- This week we talked about how to submit the final comprehensive paper in our coursework. I honestly don't know what the trouble was. I felt it would be easy to submit links to our e portfolios in our weekly assignment. Therefore reducing the trouble of attaching multiple files within the courseware and opening the assignment more than once. I am very stressed out this week and am nervous about all of this coming together. I am trying my best and I hope it's enough.
Week 6 - June 24, 2010 - 6 pm - Week 7 - July 10, 2010 - 6 pm -
